At The McGilligan Practice, our work is clinically grounded and tailored to the individual. We support adults seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, particularly where patterns feel difficult to shift, relationships feel complex, or life feels increasingly overwhelming or uncertain.

When People Seek Therapy

People seek therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty, such as anxiety, emotional distress, or relationship strain. At other times, there is a more subtle sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that are difficult to fully understand or change.

 

Therapy offers a reflective, structured space to explore these experiences, develop insight, and build more effective ways of relating to yourself and others.

Charlotte’s approach begins with a structured and thoughtful conversation to understand your current difficulties, wider context, and what you hope to gain from support.

Sessions are collaborative and carefully paced, grounded in psychological understanding and practical application. Where appropriate, early work may focus on stabilisation and emotional regulation before moving towards deeper exploration and meaningful change.
